"The Luck of the Roaring Camp"
The Luck of the Roaring Camp is a well-written story. It started out as a very melancholy atmosphere and gave off a lonesome impression. The way the story described a woman like Cherokee Sal who is in the moment giving birth to a little child. She probably felt that she will never be able to raise this child seeing her condition and knowing what a woman she is; as "a coarse and, it is to be feared, a very sinful woman". Anyone that would try to imagine the kind of life she lived would either pity her or felt sorry but less would show empathy. As the story progress, it showed that when the baby was born all the men in the camp was concern and knew what importance it takes to find a home for the child or anyone to raise him. It soon progress into a heartwarming story wherein every man especially Kentuck shown great love and great change. The story showed that men could have a heart to nurture a child as good as a real mother figure. Luck changed every man in the camp into softies. From criminals, fugitives and damn hearts they transformed. It soon seen in their camp from every corner and soon after the Oakhurst and probably entire California heard and knew that The Roaring Camp was a place to be.
Techniques used in the story
1. Plot twist. - unexpected turn of events
Apparently Kentuck and Luck died in the end.
2.Foreshadowing- hints of what will happen next
I already saw a hint that Luck's mom would die because her mother gave a violent cry.
*Yoda voice* Intersting, it is.
